Online Lessons

Lessons are short and instructional, built on a foundation of the latest in marketing research. The concepts discussed are inspired by published and peer-reviewed papers that allow in-depth reviews on the theory, data and experiments.

Labs, on the other hand, are designed to highlight new ideas in the marketing that hold significant promise, but have not been proven to the same standards. Labs are meant to inspire curiosity, experimentation and discussion about future directions for marketing research.

  • 100-level lessons are appropriate for all types of marketers regardless of experience and generally apply to a wider set of businesses. Ideas can usually be implemented within several hours without high technical sophistication.
  • 200-level lessons are as easy to understand as 100-level lessons, but require further customization based on the nature and objectives of each business. These slightly more advanced lessons that can take several days to implement and may require technical assistance.
  • 300-level lessons are some of the most sophisticated lessons that we offer on the site and offer instruction about a larger, more strategic areas of marketing. While we attempt to offer some guidance as to how to implement these ideas, their best fit is often within the strategic plan of the business instead of a plug-and-play solution for an existing marketing campaign.

No. All lessons on Proof are provided for free. However, accessing cited research and third-party websites that we link to may be subject to third-party fees.

Lessons are considered living projects that should continually evolve as we learn more about the particular area of marketing and further explore the implications to businesses. Some lesson changes may involve as little as few words, while others could involve rewriting entire sections. We are working to add a record of these changes for each lesson in the near future.

Please keep in mind that we do not yet send out e-mails on all lessons, particularly those that cover advanced or niche subjects. The only way to view these lessons is to regularly visit our site.
